Spicy Beef Basil

Garlic, Small Onion, Thai Basil, Red Bell Pepper, and Thai Chilis

Here’s the fresh ingredients we’ll need for this dish.  We’ll need garlic, a small onion, Thai basil (about 10 stalks is what we’ll be using), and a red bell pepper.  Traditionally this dish is not made with the bell pepper, but it adds some nice color to the dish and doesn’t change the flavor.  We will also need some Thai chilis for the spicy part!  If you can’t find these ingredients in your local grocery store Amazon does carry them.  You can purchase Thai chilis and Thai basil from them, and if you order $25 you’l get free shipping!

Stir fry

At this point we’ll stir fry for a couple minutes.  Since the beef is thinly sliced it doesn’t take long for it to cook.

Add Thai basil

Finally add the Thai basil.  You’ll want to have removed all the leaves from about 10 stalks of basil.  The basil cooks up very quickly, so after you’ve add them you only need to stir fry for another minute or two.
